Home  »  Bollywood News  »  Saiyaara and WAR 2 push YRF to produce more romances?

Updated : Aug 26, 2025

Saiyaara starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda became a huge blockbuster collecting over Rs.500 crores gross. In fact, it re-energised YRF after Tiger 3. Previously, Pathaan's gigantic Rs.1000 crore success had revitalised the Indian studio from debts left by Samrat Prithviraj, Shamshera, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Bunty Aur Babli 2.  In fact, in two months, YRF fortunes have turned around with these two films.

While Tiger 3 became a flop at the box office, WAR 2 also ended up as another disappointment from the YRF Spy Universe that became a thing with Pathaan. Currently, YRF have dropped the idea of a standalone Agent Vikram film with Jr. NTR and even decided to keep all other future developments on Spy Universe Films.

If Alpha starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari and Bobby Deol becomes a box office success, then the makers are planning to bring in Pathaan 2, as per the latest reports. Shah Rukh Khan is busy with his King and he did not yet agree for Pathaan sequel or any other film.

WAR2 result has also made producer Aditya Chopra re-think his strategy to push the Spy Universe as this Superhero slick action film franchise, it seems. Jr. NTR agreed to part ways with YRF post the reception, too. Currently, YRF is planning another big romance with Aneet Padda in the leading role with Maneesh Sharma, it seems.

The project will take off later this year, when the script is completely locked. On the other hand, even Dhoom 4 or Dhoom franchise revamp plans have also been put on hold to see how action genre films will fare in the next one to two years, say reports. We have to wait and see, how YRF will sail going forward.
